Hey, before we get started, I want to let you know about Buzz Sprout podcast hosting. Right now, you can get a free $20 Amazon gift card when you sign up for any of their paid plans. It's what I used to host this podcast, but it's also what I recommend because they're extremely easy to use. They have really fair pricing. They price per hour instead of megabytes there. It's free to start, so you get up to 90 days for free if you want. Customer sport is really quick and awesome. You got a nice website player that you could embed you get, Ah, nice website as well. They are constantly coming out with new features. They just added an affiliate marketplace.

They are about to update their stats, and they've done a ton of stuff just in just in the last year. So I highly recommend them, and you can go to Buzz Sprout deal dot com to get that free $20 Amazon gift card when you sign up for one of their plans. So again, that's buzz sprout deal dot com. So you've created your podcast, but have you submitted it to all the podcast directories that are available. I typically recommend you submit to Apple podcast, formerly iTunes, because that in most countries at least, is the main place that people find podcasts and then, actually, other listening. APS will pull the information from Apple to display in their app, so APs like Overcast and Castro will basically use apple podcasts as there database,

too, then get listed in places like that. But there are other directories that you definitely need to submit to, and then once you do, it's just a one time process and you're done. So it's, I think it's good. It's important to go through each of each of these I'm gonna mention and just submit your podcast and you'll be done. Some might take a week or two, and some some just happen instantly. But usually all you need is your R S s feed from your podcast host and a link which you'll be able to find in the show description. We'll have a link over to the podcast directory page here that you can then find the links to submit to these. So obviously the 1st 1 is, I see example pod gas and you, um need an apple apple i d. You'll sign up through a website called Podcast Connect,

and then they will help. You kind of validate your your feet and then you submit it, and then it takes nearly just, Ah, just a couple of days, but it could take a little bit longer to for them, too. Approve it. The next directory and a big one and growing is Spotify, and so what you can do is actually your host. You can submit through your hosting provider or and or you can also claim your podcast through, um, Spotify eyes dashboard, where you build a view stats and see how many followers you have and things like that. So it's actually I think it's important to do both. Submit Smith through your host because they'll have,

ah, wayto get listed right away. But then also, after you get listed, go and claim your your account, and that's at podcasters dot Spotify to come again. I'll have ah, a link to G O. Check that out, though on the ah in the show notes and then the next big one is Google podcast, so they they work a little bit differently. They just like, ah, website Google basically crawls the Web and find his finds. Pages to index, which then when you go search on Google, that's how you find those pages so that the same sort of process works with podcast. They look for

a little

a little link to your R S s feed in your code, and that's how they will find your podcast. So a lot of podcast hosting platforms will do this for you, but you can also put in the code so you have to go to read the guidelines about Google podcast. You'll add a little sympathy code to the head of your website. A man in your assess feed. It will link back to your podcast Web, say, in there. Um, that should already be in there. If you put in your settings, there's a website, and you should point. It pointed to your website, and so they kind of linked to each other. And when that happens,

Google knows that you're the owner of both of them. So then they kind of confirm it's you, and then they'll start indexing, and that can take you to take a few days for their Web crawlers to find it and everything, but it usually works pretty pretty quickly. But then you can also, they have ah, Google podcast publisher tool. And you can see if you're already listed by putting in your R S s feed and they'll tell you whether or not that has happened. And the next podcast directory is stitcher. So they are a fairly popping not as big as those those top three, but they're still pretty big. And it's a place that a lot of people listen and search for podcasts. It's a great place to to add your show. Three. They have their own stats that you can view listens,

listening time monthly, active users, your rank on stitchers, things like that, just like just like Apple podcast has. And, um, not too long ago, the company was actually acquired by Mid Roll, which is a popular podcast advertising network. Not sure if that's relevant, but kind of, ah, you know, behind the scenes of the industry there so you can sign up. There's a partner sign up page,

and they actually just recently redid that made it a lot, a lot prettier, nicer to use, so definitely signed up there. And then finally, Toon in is another popular podcast, app and directory, and they have a submission form that you fill out and then they'll basically review it and add your show. So those are the kind of big the big fire that top five podcast directories. But there are a few Maur I'm gonna run through here. So there is spree cur. Nay, vah sign up form and they also have a partnership with I heart radio so you can submit your show there. I actually through Buzz Brow. I was able to submit to I heart radio, um,

as well, they have some instructions for that. So that's, Ah, another one you may want to get listed on. Also, Google play music, which is kind of Google's older podcast platform. And confusingly, there's Google Play Music and Google Podcast, which are two separate APS and directories. But they basically compete with each other from the same company. So anyway, they have a I have a step by step guide on how to submit to Google play music. And while I'm not sure that it is very popular, they are still alive,

so it only takes Ah a few minutes to submit their and blueberry is a another directory. They're a podcast hosting platform, but they also have a directory of podcasts. You can submit your show to them. Another directory is digital podcast, and they just need a couple things. And, uh, you had submit your done. I Potter is one that I I found. Not sure how how much these air used, but, you know, just for kind of completeness you have, You have them, and I found a few others,

but I'II doesn't look like they're live or they've been removed. So another place you may wanna at least claim your your show is pod chaser, and that allows you to collect reviews and have people comment on kind of a hole social network for podcasts, if you will have a feed of of new updates when you, um, get reviews and things so kind of cool platform. And then I guess the final one is YouTube, which is is not quite a podcast directory, But you can submit your your show obviously is a video, too, to you, too, but doesn't You don't need to have a, you know, an actual camera of you recording you ca n't Take your recording and use something like headliner or phonic or even bus sprout has ah feature to create a video sound bite or a an audio graham, whatever you want to call it and that I'll basically show eh away for moving along as you talk.

And you can submit that to YouTube. And actually, a lot of people listen to music and podcasts and strictly spoken content on YouTube, so it's a great place to be. You know you won't you won't see those stats in your in your podcast hosting provider, but it's just a way to be where people want to listen. So it's just a nice, um, nice way to serve. Serve your audience. And I also added kind of that same same realm is Facebook. You can share your

9:47

whole

9:48

podcast that same way with, uh, um, Audio Grams. Oregon's just share clips or teasers things like that. So check out Ah, Facebook is a wayto way to share Twitter instagram, and then also, um, you can you can upload to Soundcloud with the free account. They only allow you to upload three hours, but again, it's just another place to kind of be found. I wouldn't spend a lot of time there. I wouldn't use them as a podcast hosting provider. But just know that you can submit, Ah,

a few a few episodes or maybe some maybe some teasers there just to kind of cover your bases. So those are all the podcast directories that that at least I'm aware of it. There's more. I'll be happy to Adam to the, uh, to the list here, so be sure and check out the the link and there's show description so you can check all these out with links to howto submit and step by step instructions, links all that stuff. So thanks, and we'll see in the next upset.
