All right. So first of all, just so you people know remain the same, is not a producer of this podcast. He's been demoted to editor, and at this rate, he might be the intern of the study. FT podcasts. In a couple of weeks, I've been waiting. It's like almost 10 PM right now just to just to set the scene. Have been waiting for hours to be produced. Be excited to be motivated to create some fucking content, to do an episode,

0:29

to do something, to experiment, to play with storytelling, to do something new. And he has been reading all the newsletters he subscribed to. Then he's visited his favorite blog's and commented on all of them. Great job. And he hearted all the tweets of all the people he's following. He's done everything but the feet that we came here for because, like two hours ago, were barbecue with our families now Children, and we left to come back to this office to get some content work done. So he is less number one for everybody. Wants to do content. Can't rely on anybody else to motivate you to spy you or to produce you. You can't wait to be excited yourself or motivated yourself to create content. This is She

1:20

fits nicely into something I wanted to talk about on the podcast anyways, which is this goes out to everybody who is thinking about creating content online, producing content and is watching my stuff or anybody else's content online. And he's thinking, How can I build a big following? How can I build a big pot guest or huge YouTube channel or instagram polling or whatever, whatever else it is that you're interested in, what question? I get a lot. There's different versions of this question. But the core of the question is, how can I make myself get over the emotional hurdle off creating the content? I want to start a blah, want to start a podcast, but at the difficult time getting started, have a YouTube channel and I'm uploaded, uploaded a bunch of videos of a hard time being motivated to create new content.

I am afraid off what people will say. I feel like I am not prepared well enough. I don't know if I have to say something unique. That's another thing I heard here often like do I have something to say that has never been set before. Will I be attacked? Well, people make fun of me. You know, all these kind of doubts and fears that people have when it comes to putting yourself out there. And in some way, I have not been. Haven't thought about it this way in a long time because I've been creating content pretty consistently now for quite a while. But

2:48

But when you create content, you

2:50

are putting yourself out there, right? You are saying intrinsically what I just said. What I just rode, I believe, is important enough for you to read or to listen to or to consume. I feel like something to say and I believe I'm worthy of an audience for

3:10

it, right? That's a big fucking statement. That's a big claim. Oh, I believe

3:15

I have something unique to say that people should stop what the fuck they're doing. Put down everything and just listen to me. Oh, watch me or read me. It's a big climate, the big ask. So obviously, if I fall short on my claim, people might make final meal critique me a comment something really nasty or people might just I think the fear that people have even above some some nasty comment of some anonymous person is that people they respect people they like people they know thinking off them in some in some bad terms. Like watching the video and thinking this is dumb or listen to the podcast and thinking This is boring, right? Just the imagination. Just the the the thought off the people you like and respect and admire thinking poorly of you because of the content you put out there is, I think, something that stops a lot of people whom creating content. I don't know if I have the answer to Hawk Total come this stuff. And I don't have,

like the the anti dote to these doubts or through these fears. But at the end of the day, I would ask myself, Why do I want to create content in the first place? What is it that is driving me to even have the thought toe? Want to start a blogger? Start a podcast starter You to change what prompted this? Why the fuck do I have this desire of this thought to do this and to answer your why right? Is it because you think you have something worth saying. Is it that you have found that in one on one interactions when you share your advice, you share your experiences. You share your stories that people resonate with those people appreciate them. The people benefit from them. What

5:5

does that make you want

5:6

to put yourself out there in this way? And if you do know for the right reason, whatever the right reasons are in this case, in my mind, if you're doing it because you want to create value, not just because you want to consume about it's if your answer is, I want to build

5:23

a huge YouTube channel because I want to make a $1,000,000. And I saw high Lopez from YouTube and he has lumber keys. It is you tube videos. So how can I get my fucking Lamborghini? Not probably have to start a future channel? I mean, I get that and that it depending on how young you're like if you're you're younger than 20 our little pass on that. But if you're above 20 years old and that's your motivation, it's probably not the right motivation. It's a very selfish one. you want to consume value, you want to get value from others and you don't give a shit what you give them back in return. Right? If you do it because you want to be famous because

5:59

you feel like if you're famous, people will admire you in because you're gonna feel sexy or happier. Successful for lots of lots of people admire you to get a very egotistical A very selfish, A very value consuming, uh, reasoning behind it. That's your reason. I don't know. I mean, I'm sure you still can build a massive YouTube channel and big following, but I don't know how to do that. But if you doing it because you wanna give value, you want to give something back to society. When a creative value, you want to help others, you want toe offer something.

6:36

It doesn't mean that it shouldn't be good for you to, but you want to offer something to the world that that the world will find valuable. That's your motivation. And just focus on that. Just focus on that and realize that you have to look foolish in the name of progress. There's no way to get good at anything that looking a little stupid in the process. Now the difference is when you want to put when you want to become good at content, you looking foolish in the name of products that that foolishness will be in public, it will be published. It will not happen in private, but that's just part

7:13

of the journey, and you need to get comfortable with that level off discomfort. The other thing is that you you will need to learn, I believe, and to build up the muscle off the discipline of creating content. The people that you admire that are prolific content creators are people that are committed to creating content, are committed to the publishing timelines and deadlines and rhythms and the publishing schedule. They're committed to it not just for week or month or year, that committed to it for decades. And that's the heart. That's the hard part is doing this day in, day out. It doesn't matter how you feel. It doesn't matter. You know what's going out on up there, and it doesn't matter. You know,

if you're inspired right now or not, if you you know, if you hit certain milestones with your followers or you views or not, It doesn't matter. You know, You you committed to creating content and you build up the discipline and the consistency and the persistency to

8:17

create content. No matter how you feel, if you feel scared, you hit published. If you feel you know that fool you published If you're, you know, insecure Onshore unit published you commit to creating content and to put in your work out there for people to consume and to critique, and you learn to deal with it. Even during this episode are doing this recording I two moments where for a split second, I doubt in my mind I was thinking whereby even going with us says really valuable. Is anybody gonna be interesting listening to this show? I just start over or delete or stop. And then I decided, Shut the fuck up. Just finish the thought and then you can You can listen to it and then still decided, you know, publish it or not. But where you gonna publish it? But I don't stop

9:10

just because they're creeping doubts in the middle of it. Never ever stopped Mina would your doubts are Maybe that should be there should be another episode. You should never stop in the middle. I've been telling this to people for a long time. When doing more calls with them. When they make a little mistake, they want to stop in the middle. You never stop. You learn to continue even as you mess things up. It's incredibly valuable, so I don't have a good answer. I don't have, like, a convenient answer, for sure. But if you want to create content, if you want to put yourself out there and the thing that is holding you back is that you don't have the

9:45

right camera, you don't know how to upload a video. YouTube. You're afraid of the haters out there. You don't know what to say or what you have to say is unique. If any doubts,

9:57

anything holding you back, I need to tell yourself the shut the fuck up. Need to remind yourself that everyone that is creating content feels just like you felt just like you. At some point, you need to ask yourself, Why do I even wanna put myself out there? Why do I even want to create content for other people to consume and then let that Why drive you and just make a commitment to publish, make a commitment, create day in and day out. No matter how you feel

10:26

and I promise you, even if you look a little foolish in the name of progress, you will get better. You will find an audience. Don't know if it's a big one are swollen, but you will find people

10:38

that will appreciate what you do that will benefit from what they heard. Some you learn from you and you will have made the world a better place in your little way.
