Sarah Morgan is a practicing HR Professional with nearly 20 years’ experience in the light industrial and retail industries. She currently the Chief Excellence Officer of BuzzARooney LLC, where she provides consulting and coaching surrounding organizational culture, comprehensive health & total wellness benefits, and executive leadership. Sarah still also serves as an active HR practitioner as the Senior Director of Human Resources for an international home security dealer headquartered outside Raleigh NC.

Sarah has Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Organizational Communication and Leadership from the University of Richmond as well as a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Strayer University.

In 2011, Sarah began blogging under the pen name “Buzz Rooney,” a spin on her childhood nickname. Then in 2013, she made the decision to retire the nickname and cartoon avatar; she began to write and speak under her real name. Her blog, The Buzz on HR, is now 8 years old and has over 10,000 subscribers. Sarah has also amassed more than 20,000 followers across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

In 2017, Sarah created the #BlackBlogsMatter challenge, a 28-day writing challenge about the unique hurdles faced by African-Americans and Women in the workplace. The challenge has continued as a hashtag movement that keeps driving conversation and sharing about diversity, inclusion, equity, fairness and belonging in our workplace and world. In 2019, Sarah added #BlackPodsMatter to her hashtag movement arsenal to expand the conversation to include the growing area of podcasting.

Also in 2019, Sarah launched her podcast, Leading in Color, where she provides advice and interviews experts about cultivating intentional, positive workplace experiences and environments thru a lens of diversity, equity, fairness and inclusion.
