Why Does a Ribera Jacket Mean a Wrestler Is Somebody in Japan?
Ribera is a steakhouse in Japan with two locations that has built the steakhouse around wrestling. Pictures of wrestlers cover every surface of the building. A wrestler gets a jacket and takes a picture in front of the Ribera logo. The jackets date back to the 80s. If a wrestler had a Ribera jacket on, the wrestler was somebody. The Ribera jacket was like a letterman's jacket.
