What Is a Strength Reserve?
Ross Edgley says a strength reserve is why he still strength trains. He raises his one-rep max on pull-ups so that each swim stroke, which he compares to a one-arm lap pull-down, is a smaller percentage of what he can do.
He points to Eddie Hall. In a CrossFit event with 60 kilos on the bar, Hall was so strong that the lift looked like a front raise to Ross Edgley. Ross Edgley says that lightness is a strength reserve, and that the idea is inspired by Eddie Hall and Cam McAvoy.
