What Happened to Ian Gibbons at Theranos?
PJ Vogt says Ian Gibbons, Theranos's chief scientist, overdosed on purpose the day before he was supposed to appear in court and died in the hospital. Gibbons had gotten on Elizabeth Holmes's bad side after complaining to a board member about her dishonesty.
Gibbons was pulled into another Theranos court battle and was terrified of being deposed, because a deposition would require him to speak honestly about what he had seen at Theranos. His wife found him the day before the court date. When his widow called Holmes's office to give the company the news, a Theranos lawyer emailed her and instructed her to return her dead husband's Theranos laptop, along with any other confidential material he may have possessed.
