What Happened to Tyler Shultz After He Blew the Whistle on Theranos?
PJ Vogt says the papers Theranos's lawyers brought that evening were a temporary restraining order and a notice to appear in court that Friday, not a nondisclosure agreement, and that the fight cost Tyler Shultz and his parents nearly $500,000. Tyler says private investigators trailed him and his parents, and he thinks they trailed their lawyers as well. He became so anxious that he slept with a knife.
The turn came when the Wall Street Journal published its Theranos reporting. Walgreens ended the partnership and investors pulled out. Elizabeth Holmes's story collapsed, and so did the company. For a while, Elizabeth Holmes was not a main character in the public imagination. Now she is back.

Why Does Tyler Shultz Push Back on the New Elizabeth Holmes Hype?
Tyler Shultz feels the settled account of Elizabeth Holmes has been slightly undone. He wonders what the next stepping stone is in her rehabilitation and what role the movie plays in it. He still thinks the overwhelming majority of people agree with his version of reality. A fringe is getting maybe stronger, or feels emboldened by the film to speak in her favor.

Gibbons was pulled into another Theranos court battle and was terrified of being deposed, because a deposition would require him to speak honestly about what he had seen at Theranos. His wife found him the day before the court date. When his widow called Holmes's office to give the company the news, a Theranos lawyer emailed her and instructed her to return her dead husband's Theranos laptop, along with any other confidential material h

Why Are Fake Theranos Results Worse Than a Broken iPhone?
Tyler Shultz says a fake Theranos result is worse than a broken iPhone because the person who gets a medical diagnostic test has no idea whether the result is accurate. When a software product fails, the user sees the failure. Apple does not keep backup fake information on the iPhone and throw it at the user so the phone looks like it worked, the way fake texts from a mom would.
He knew the test did not work, and that is when he started speaking up. Theranos was actively hurting people with the test in use. Amazing technology behind a locked door he never got to see would not change the harm.
PJ Vogt points to reporter John Carreyrou's book Bad Blood, where a teenage girl was mistakenly to
