What Nuclear Deal Does Michael Douglas Want From Trump?

at 25:55

From the episode: #2565 - Michael Douglas

Answer

Michael Douglas hopes President Trump makes a deal with Putin for the United States and Russia to give up nuclear weapons. He says the weapons are totally obsolete and would destroy the world, and he calls it mutual assured destruction. If Trump spent the next three years of his presidency negotiating with Putin, Douglas says we could get rid of nuclear weapons, and he guarantees he would commit his life to Trump getting the Nobel Peace Prize because Trump would deserve it.

Joe Rogan calls the proposal a great utopian idea and agrees a world with no nuclear weapons would be awesome if the species agreed there is no need for something that can kill every man, woman, child, every animal and plant on Earth many times over. He says the weapons we have today are absurd: if China, Russia, the United States, and the other countries launched all their bombs at once, the world would be over, on fire, a glowing orb. Rogan says he does not ever think any country with a military will give up all its nuclear weapons while nuclear weapons are still out there. He does not know whether the New Jersey drone story is true, the conspiracy that United States military drones searched for a missing bomb or an unaccounted nuclear device, but he does know they do not exactly know where all the bombs are all over the world, so giving up nuclear weapons while weapons still exist is highly unlikely.
