What Is the Takeaway With Online Dating
It doesn’t have to suck. The point isn’t swiping, it’s finding your person. Don’t treat it like a game, and don’t treat it like a resume or review. Instead, use it to source and qualify leads, and then get offline as quickly as possible with a zero date.

What Does Christina Wallace Say Online Dating Does Well?
On TED Talks Daily, Christina Wallace says online dating does one thing well: it broadens your pool of potential dates beyond your existing social and professional circles. She says it does not do the rest well. Wallace first tried it in 2001, her freshman year. At six feet tall, she left the campus scene after finding that the men's Division III basketball team averaged five foot eight, and went online instead. Early dating, she says, was close to the plot of You've Got Mail: long emails for weeks, then a meeting that often had no chemistry, and a return to the start. Many of those frustrations, she says, are still there.
