Why Does Guillermo del Toro Prefer Darkness to Sharpness?
Guillermo del Toro says controlling black levels matters more than resolution for film quality. People are enamored with 4K, 6K, 8K but 2K with really controlled black levels looks much more beautiful. Dolby laser projection is incredibly beautiful because whites are pure and black levels are deep. Good black levels provide perfect color saturation. Gold and cyan are incredibly hard because both gold and cyan become green really easy.
