What Does Aman Singh Think of Managed Agents?

Aman Singh is very bullish on the models from Anthropic and labs like OpenAI, and less so on taking a dependency on a product like managed agents. Managed agents persist and contribute memory about what is happening in the world and the operational knowledge they need to succeed. Letting them own that part of the business is a risk, because owning your intelligence gives you the ability to impact the business. Handing the intelligence to another provider loses some of the control needed to build something unique and tailored enough to actually impact the business.

Anthropic getting into the industry is very validating. A services firm that has access to AI tools is very different from a firm built to be AI native. The firm with AI tools requires users to prompt the agents to produce work or to do work. At Arca, agents prompt people more than people prompt agents. The service is proactive and runs for them 24-7, in the standard way the firm expects and at the level of service it aspires to. A company with AI tools looks very different.
