How Does Harmony AI Connect a Factory?

at 3:51

From the episode: S13 Bonus: Eliminating Paperwork & Manual Data Entry in Manufacturing with Brian McKeown, Founding Engineer at Harmony AI

Answer

Harmony AI is an AI operating system for a factory. Brian McKeown says Harmony sends a person into the plant for anywhere between three to nine months. The job is to digitize paperwork on the floor, connect machine data, and link the internal tools the plant already runs.

The on-site work pulls in the ERPs, the CMMS, and the MES, the stack of software tools a factory already has, and connects them into one data layer. Harmony calls the layer an ontological data layer. It is the foundation for AI production scheduling, quality intelligence, and inventory intelligence. The same foundation can automate back-office workflows with AI agents, the tedious work that currently occupies a plant's best people every day.

McKeown says AI is only as good as the data it has access to. The install is meant to get the operation working in harmony, with everything connected to one data layer, so AI can make the best decisions possible.
