Why Does Luc Van Loon Say Eating Collagen Does Not Make More Collagen In Your Skin?
Luc van Loon, at Maastricht University, says the gut breaks eaten collagen down into amino acids. Clare Collins says those amino acids build muscles, make enzymes needed in every chemical reaction of the body, or replace cells in the kidneys, lungs, and eyes. The body decides what to do with the amino acids, and the person has no control over that.
