Back to Elon Musk: "Humans Won't Be in Control" When AI Becomes Smarter Than Us, with Elon Musk.

Can Only AI and Robots Fix the National Debt?

Elon Musk says the only way to solve the national debt is with AI and robots. Saving a way out will not work, because the appetite to cut spending is not there.

He came to the conclusion that there was no way to solve the deficit from within the government, and he calls it impossible. Musk says it could happen if the president made deficit reduction his primary goal, but stopping wasteful spending makes a lot of enemies. President Trump likes to be liked and does not like people calling him upset when some funding is stopped. The missing appetite is not limited to the presidency. Musk says it is missing at the House, the Senate, and the judiciary. Basically no one in authority in the government wants to reduce spending, aside from a few rare exceptions.

Musk therefore treats AI and robots as the path to the national debt, because government will not reduce spending on its own.
