Why Does Europe Have No Abundant Energy?

Dave Blundin says China has abundant energy and Europe has none because the West decides from empathy miscalibrated by the media, while China has statisticians and researchers who gravitate to the right overall answer. He cannot speak for the whole group, and he thinks Elon Musk has an important point in saying Western civilization is contaminated by empathy. The U.S. is statistically the most generous country in the world, and he ties that generosity to empathy.

The pattern shows up in travel fear. A Learjet crashed in Florida, and people said they do not want to fly anymore, even though flying is by far the safest way to travel. Train wrecks and car wrecks were not on TV the same night, so they drew no matching reaction. Decisions follow statistical outliers sitting on television or the internet. China does not do that. The same effect is why Europe has no abundant energy.

The outcome is a byproduct of a good thing, empathy, miscalibrated by the media.
