What Does Chase Jarvis Say You Can Learn From Creative Calling?
On What Got You There, host Sean DeLaney talks with photographer and entrepreneur Chase Jarvis about Jarvis's book Creative Calling. The episode notes say the point is that life is not about finding fulfillment and success. It is about creating them. Jarvis has shot campaigns for Apple, Nike, and Red Bull, contributed to the Pulitzer-winning New York Times story Snowfall, and earned an Emmy nomination for the documentary Portrait of a City. He built Best Camera, an early photo app that shared pictures to social networks, and founded CreativeLive, where the show notes say more than 10 million students have learned photography, video, design, music, and business from working creators.

What Is One Key to Crushing It at Work
Chase Jarvis says that protecting his mornings was a key to his personal power. Even 10-15 minutes in the morning, you can program yourself for the day you want to live, instead of letting the day get the best of you.
The routine will be specific to each person, but Chase tries to meditate, take an ice bath and eat healthy foods. He also spends time being quiet, and visualizing his day.
Chase says it's also key to not be doing things from your day, during this special time. For example, no checking email. This time belongs to you, and you alone.
If you don't write your own script, someone else will write it for you.
