How Does Harmony AI Scale?

at 24:19

From the episode: S13 Bonus: Eliminating Paperwork & Manual Data Entry in Manufacturing with Brian McKeown, Founding Engineer at Harmony AI

Answer

Harmony AI scales by targeting mid-market, high-volume, family-owned manufacturers and sticking to that market at the start. Brian McKeown says a solution delivered at one factory can be ported to another and connected into the data model, so implementations and deployments get faster one after another. He calls the result a snowball effect.

Brian McKeown says there is a tendency at startups to accept anyone as a customer to grow revenue and look big enough to go to San Francisco and raise a big, crazy next round. He says a short-term influx of capital might not be worth taking someone outside the ICP on as a customer. Even 5, 10, or 15 more customers, when each one does not fit the ICP and is unique enough to stay extremely siloed and hard to deliver, create a mountain of maintenance that becomes a real thorn once the company starts growing.

Staying inside one kind of factory lets Harmony AI notice repeatable trends between factories, keep the solutions scalable, and grow quicker as each deployment follows the last.
