How Should Claude Sub-agents Split a Task?
Katelyn Lesse says a multi-agent Claude setup should have one lead that splits the work into pieces which can run in parallel and share the same context.
The gains show up when the task can be parallelized and every sub-agent, or sub-lead, is asynchronous and does not block the others. Those are the two constraints she would put on the architecture. Past that, let Claude design the rest. The model is getting better at splitting itself, cloning itself, and fitting the architecture to the job. What the setup has to guarantee is shared state, and sub-agents that do not block each other. With those two in place, the interesting move is to try the strange versions, including on a problem that had felt stuck.
