What Do Gen Z and Millennials Need to See Before They Trust a Company's Culture?
Justin Nguyen tells Carolyn Kiel that his generation will not believe a culture claim unless the company shows it. Every employer says it is great for millennials and Gen Z. Students, he says, can see the video shot for the camera and the box checked on a list. His example is a defense contractor in Central Florida, an industry with a dull reputation. At the career fair he was planning, that company could hand students a VR headset, show a missile or a spaceship, and let them talk to the engineers. Kiel asks whether culture means snacks and a ping-pong table or meaningful work. Nguyen's point is that his generation wants the proof in the room.
