How Much New Snap Code Does AI Write?

Evan Spiegel says more than two-thirds of new code at Snap is written by AI. The shift happened really quickly, and the rate at which the models are getting better is extraordinary.

AI is transforming software development across every part of Snap. Snap is a software business with network effects: a service that connects people to one another, and at its core still a software business. The way Snap writes software and runs the business is changing dramatically.

Snap is insulated from some of the effects on other software businesses that AI is cannibalizing very quickly. The network that connects people stays in place while the way the software gets written changes underneath it.
