Why Does Elon Musk Say Money Is Not the Constraint?

David Senra, reading Elon Musk, says money is not the constraint on building great teams and products. Funding would be enough if a factory produced excellent engineers. The factory does not exist. Finding the right talent, integrating them into an organization, and making the group work effectively is incredibly difficult. Only a small number of excellent people exist, and they are hard to find.

Wherever the smartest, most driven people are choosing to work, that company is going to win. Hiring then rests on two tests. Look at the character of the people someone chooses to spend time with, because people can mask their own character and friends and associates will not. The second test is attitude over skill. Skills can be taught.
