What Is a Startup Case Study Factory?

Rob Snyder defines a startup case study factory as the system for repeating one customer story an infinite number of times. A founder finds someone with pull and gives them a product or service they pull out of their hands. The story is simple: they were trying to do X, existing options were not good enough for Y, and the offer Z unblocks them. The founder does not produce 100 different case studies. The founder builds one case study where the customer says hell yes before they buy and after they buy, then repeats that a million times.

The factory has three steps. Pipeline is how people get into a conversation. Sales is how potential customers become actual customers. Delivery is how customers stay and do not churn. When the case study is right, customers pull themselves through each step, and the work of the company fits into repeating that story.

The model replaces a pile of separate startup skills with one job: build the factory that repeats the case study. Theory of constraints, taken from manufacturing, then asks where the bottleneck to growth sits.
