Why Do Religious Married People Have the Most Sex?

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson says religious married people have the most sex, the exact inverse of the sexual revolution's promise, and deeper commitment to an ideal monogamous relationship brings a more stellar sexual life.

Recent data puts religious married people at the top. Reliable contraception, used properly, was supposed to mean anything goes, with people living like the Californians in the Dostoevsky story and sex everywhere. He supposes that in some ways the shift worked for about four years in the 1960s before things fell apart. A hedonistic approach to sexual gratification has the consequence that sex itself disappears. Something like 30 percent of Japanese people under 30 are now virgins, and they sit ahead of a curve already visible in North America. The pursuit of narrow hedonistic sexual gratification makes sex start to become impossible.

The more committed a person is to an ideal monogamous relationship and the negotiation that goes along with it, the more stellar the sexual life, and the data at hand indicates the link as incontrovertible. The offer is simply way better, as part of the promise in marriage as a sacred and functional sacrificial enterprise. Marriage is the best solution to the problem, beyond duty and beyond what a person does upon maturing.
