Back to The Professor Bringing Sanity Back To Elite Campuses | KMP Ep.55, with Gad Saad.
How Lopsided Are Democrats and Republicans Among Professors?
Gad Saad says the lopsidedness of Democrats versus Republicans among professors is 1 to 130. A drug study with a 1.2 to 1 odds ratio, which he also calls 1 to 1.2, means the experimental group had 20 percent more efficacy. He says the statistical significance of the professor gap is greater than any study that has ever been published in any field of science.
Katie Miller asked what large universities, including the Ivy League and Harvard, should change in hiring and retention so students get more diversity of thought. Gad Saad says he agrees completely. Whether a professor is a Republican or a Democrat does not matter, he says, when the class is Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. It matters for the optimal immigration policy and the optimal fiscal policy, where reasonable arguments exist on both sides. Gad Saad says students are cheated if 95 percent, 98 percent, or 99 percent of professors are of one bent.
Katie Miller asked if that is a reason to send more children into engineering. Gad Saad says the way to protect a child from this thought, without moving, is to get them out of the humanities.
