How Lopsided Are Democrats and Republicans Among Professors?
Gad Saad says the lopsidedness of Democrats versus Republicans among professors is 1 to 130. A drug study with a 1.2 to 1 odds ratio, which he also calls 1 to 1.2, means the experimental group had 20 percent more efficacy. He says the statistical significance of the professor gap is greater than any study that has ever been published in any field of science.
Katie Miller asked what large universities, including the Ivy League and Harvard, should change in hiring and retention so students get more diversity of thought. Gad Saad says he agrees completely. Whether a professor is a Republican or a Democrat does not matter, he says, when the class is Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. It matt

How Does Gad Saad Use Grok?
Gad Saad only uses AI to ask very detailed questions. He entered the three health plans Ole Miss is offering into Grok because he does not understand 90% of the acronyms, and Grok told him to pick option one given his reality. Katie Miller called that a good use of AI.
Katie Miller asked whether Gad Saad lets students use AI to gather data while they work through the scientific method. He said no. He does let them use online data collection portals, so many experiments can be done online instead of requiring someone to come physically to the lab. She asked if he would worry about a student having AI collate the data, and if he uses Panagram to check for AI. He said he is not using Panagram.

What Does Gad Saad Call Siding With Lindsay Clancy?
Gad Saad says siding with Lindsay Clancy is suicidal empathy. He defines it as empathy hyperactivated in the wrong situations and aimed at the wrong targets. People sent all of their empathy to the one who killed the three children instead of to the three dead children.
He calls the reaction grotesque. A man who killed children can be shown facing a death penalty, but with the woman the story became her hormones and her postpartum, as if she had no personal agency. Gad Saad links the excuse to blank slate felons. The blank slate view says people are born tabula rasa, an empty mind, and only socialization makes them who they are. A felon of color born in a white supremacist society like the

What Is the Crisis Among Young Men?
Katie Miller describes a crisis among young men. Fewer are going to college, many are not dating or marrying, and some are withdrawing from the workforce. She asks what happened to men. Gad Saad says one of the most frequent emails he receives from women matches her question. A woman got dressed up, went to a place to meet someone, and no man approached her. She writes, Professor Saad, help me. Women ask where all the good men have gone. He says the men have bought into radical feminism.
He says if you teach men that anything they do is pathological, that they are toxic men, and that a compliment on how a woman looks is a form of compliment rape, then it is not difficult to imagine that mos

How Do Civilizations Die?
Gad Saad says civilizations do not die by murder. They die by suicide. The form of suicide the West has chosen is pathological empathy.
Katie Miller asked about the decay of civilization and whether Rome fits. Gad Saad said Rome certainly does, then widened the claim. In the first chapter of Suicidal Empathy, he cites Arnold Toynbee, an eminent British historian who had done a 12-volume study of why civilizations eventually perish. Toynbee came up with a maxim. Gad Saad says the maxim is very relevant to the topic of the book. The maxim is that civilizations do not die by murder. They die by suicide.
Gad Saad argues that the suicidal manifestation the West has chosen runs through pathologi

Why Did Gad Saad Leave Montreal?
Gad Saad left Canada for the United States because it became untenable to remain in Montreal, which he calls a hotbed of Islamic takeover. He is now at Ole Miss. Tenure is what made the earlier decades possible. He says he could never have existed for many decades in academia without the protection tenure afforded, even though politicians usually scoff at tenure. Eventually, he says, it catches up.
The job itself arrived by chance, which he calls the magic of the serendipity of life. He was railing about something about Canada. He thinks the post was about Canada on X. A gentleman replied that Ole Miss would love to have him. Saad has a big platform and says a reply often goes unseen, but h

What Is Suicidal Empathy?
Suicidal empathy is compassion that fires too hard at the wrong target. Gad Saad says empathy is a wonderful virtue for a social species, and a real conversation needs cognitive empathy, or theory of mind. Aristotle taught several thousand years ago that too little of something is bad and too much is bad, so people have to find the middle. No empathy makes a person a psychopath. Empathy that hyperfires in the wrong situations toward the wrong target becomes suicidal empathy.
Society has moved away from logical questions such as whether an idea is right or wrong and whether two plus two equals four. Gad Saad says the demand now is empathy for a lived experience even to the detriment of other

What Languages Do Gad Saad's Children Speak?
Gad Saad's children speak only two languages, French and English. His wife speaks neither Arabic nor Hebrew, and he does not speak Armenian. Speaking a language the other parent does not know would lock that parent out, so the couple used only the two languages they both speak.
Saad moved from Lebanon to Canada as a child. He calls it one of his only parental regrets that the children speak neither Arabic nor Hebrew nor Armenian, though his wife's family speaks Armenian. He says they could have taught the children five languages and failed them miserably. Asked whether the children regret it and hate him, Saad says he thinks maybe a bit more his son than his daughter, since the son keeps in
