How Does Jonathan Sposato Describe Microsoft While He Worked There?
Jonathan Sposato tells What Fuels You that he joined Microsoft in Redmond at the end of 1992 and stayed until 2004, about twelve years. He defines the culture of that tenure as a meritocracy, a great deal of fun, rigorous, and intellectually challenging, and he calls it the best job he had. The product group felt small enough that program managers, engineers, and designers knew one another. He says he bites his tongue when people from Facebook, Google, or Amazon talk as if moving fast and breaking things is new. In his words, the Matrix has rebooted about four times, and people at IBM once said the same about Microsoft.
