Does Llms.txt Help You Show Up in ChatGPT?

Nathan Gotch says llms.txt does not help you show up in ChatGPT. It was never a standard, and the language models never implemented it. He does not mention it once across 500 webinar slides, because it does nothing.

Schema markup is the same kind of myth. He has found no evidence that schema markup changes whether AI mentions a brand, tests showed no uplift, and pages with no schema are cited and extracted just as well. He also treats answer engine optimization as the same work as search engine optimization. Advice sold as AEO content still says to put the keyword in the URL, the title, the meta description, the H1, and the first hundred words, which is what people have said for more than a decade. What gets called technical AEO is the same list: use HTML, load fast, be mobile friendly, and stay crawlable and indexable.
