What Is the Night Receptionist's Name at the Horse and Jockey?
Belinda wakes at 6:30am. The receptionist left at 2:30, which gave her four hours of sleep, and she has no time for breakfast. Rocky Flintstone finally names him in passing: there is no time for breakfast "even if it were being served by the very sexually fulfilled night receptionist called Sam." Jamie, James, and Alice are delighted. For several chapters he has only been "the youngish man," including during the turkey-sandwich scene. They also ask why a night receptionist would be serving breakfast instead of going home. Sam is the name. Belinda still skips the meal.
