Does AI Dwarf Everything Else?
Mark Cuban says AI dwarfs everything else in aggregate. He has been in the tech business a long time, and AI is so much bigger. Asking it to teach him everything about Steven Bartlett makes him a lot more productive, and he says it can make anybody more productive. Done right, artificial intelligence is a democratizer of information. A person has access to every library, every book, and every speech everywhere. If someone is interested, there is nothing they cannot learn.
Steven Bartlett says people around the world ask him whether the technology is the real deal, and business owners ask how they should respond. At 34, he sees almost no precedent for such a disruptive technology. Creative destruction rips down the old way of doing things and can rip down a person's identity, degree, or job. He calls the discomfort cognitive dissonance: the feeling when something threatens or conflicts with what a person knows. The whole world is experiencing it all at once. Some people bury their heads in the sand and say it will not come for them.
Mark Cuban says that is not going to happen. He sees AI as an opportunity, because wherever there is change, there is opportunity. Some people avoid the discomfort and do not deal with it. Others pick it up and say let's go. Going has always been his approach, because most people are not going to do the work.
