Does AI Replace Jobs?
Mark Cuban says the healthcare workforce looks the same as any other industry, and AI does not replace jobs. People who know how to use AI replace the jobs of people who do not know how to use AI.
Over the next five years, companies still have to hire entry-level people. The minute a model is released, it is already behind, and every model has latency. New hires stay aware of what is going on, create context, act as the human in the loop, and understand the consequences. They grow with the organization and carry the history of each implementation. The same enablement has to reach the rest of the white-collar staff. The larger step is teaching the C-suite how AI works: how agents work, how to use a model, the difference between open source and closed models, and model latency. The conversation Mark Cuban, Julie Yoo, and Erik Torenberg are having is in no model anywhere until it is published, so the models and AI are behind. LLMs are text and some pictures and do not cover real-world video. A CEO has to see how all of it hits the company. Once that grasp is there, leaders start fooling around and find new ways to benefit customers or create opportunities.
AI is not smart. It might be book smart, and it is not street smart.
