Why Does Town Still Shock People Who Gave Up Early?

at 50:04

From the episode: What Happens When AI Agents Can Spend Your Money? | Jean-Denis Greze and Alex Rampell

Answer

Jean-Denis Greze says people who tried artificial intelligence two years ago locked in a failure. It hallucinated and did not work well, and they kept that version of reality. He has run the comparison about 10 times. People insist the result is not the artificial intelligence they remember. It is the same kind of system, and they have to try again. The product space moves so fast that the gap keeps reopening. The winning platform keeps adapting the business to the best artificial intelligence. Models keep improving, and the mental picture of what is possible and what is difficult stays backwards facing.

In the last two and a half months, computer use and browser use let assistants do jobs that were near impossible six months ago. They succeed 90 percent of the time, after succeeding about 30 percent of the time. Most people have not experienced the change. A Town demo, shopping or using existing software, leaves them surprised the job can be done at all. Saying Town now has computer use means nothing. The offer has to be concrete: posters for an event that look like the ones already made in Canva, using the Canva subscription already being paid for. Five minutes later, for 25 cents, the result is valuable enough to ask whether to repeat it before every similar event on the calendar. When a small business or mid-market firm changes its design, the next flyers should match the new design without a fresh request. When video works, the next offer is video assets to advertise on Instagram, following what the models can newly do.
