Back to Joseph Cohen: Infinite Ride, with Joseph Cohen.
Why Did Joseph Cohen Start Infinite Machine?
Joseph Cohen started Infinite Machine after his Vespa was stolen in early 2020. The electric vehicles on the market then were uninspiring, mostly plastic machines he describes as moving printers.
He and his co-founders had always wanted to build a vehicle. The work became a COVID nights and weekends project and ran that way for about three and a half years until the P1 prototype. The personal electric vehicle category is a $200 billion a year global market and will be a $500 billion a year market within a decade, with no Apple of the category and no Tesla of the category. The supply chain had matured enough that they could design the vehicle instead of inventing battery chemistry. They went full time. Funding until then had come from them. The finished P1 prototype, after a bunch of different iterations, was ready in July of 2023.
Nobody in the category was doing the best design and the best engineering, and that is the work they believe they are good at.
