Why Is Winning Every Sales Deal a Warning?

Parag Agrawal treats a perfect close rate as a warning, not a comfort. At a board meeting, Mamoon Hamid asked how often Parallel wins when a customer is looking at the company. The team said they tend to always close. The conclusion in the room was that they were simply not in enough deals.

The comment hurt. Agrawal called Hamid the same day and asked for help fixing it. Parallel had already been searching for a head of sales, and an outsider looking at the pipeline without the team's habits made the market pull obvious in a way the insiders could not calibrate. The operating point he keeps is the short one: always winning the deals you enter can mean you are not showing up to enough fights.
