Why Do Some AI Products Disappear Within a Year?
Molly Graham says some of what gets shipped now may last six or twelve months and then disappear or stop mattering. She asks if that is the slop version of a startup: many companies putting things into the world that do not endure. The path she wants is to pioneer the thing that is still around in five years, that matters, and that does more than exist.
Typing something into existence is easy now, so the next question is whether it is good. Ambition means building something phenomenal that will last. Making more stuff is a different target. The split is between the moment of having built a thing and asking what is actually good and what is worth other people's time.
