Why Sell AI Services to Plumbers and HVAC Companies?
James Dickerson says plumbers and HVAC companies doing about $2 million to $20 million a year can pay, already suspect they might be behind, and are not hearing from anyone useful. The pitch is not an AI agent that makes a company ten times more efficient. It is businesses that already buy ads. The leak to fix is turning traffic they already pay for into more calls and more booked jobs. They understand return on investment because they spend on marketing, and an agency they have paid for years may never have plugged those leaks.
Plumbing and HVAC are about 112,000 companies, averaging roughly $2.5 million a year. Fourteen percent of owners say AI is fully part of how they run. He puts 14 percent of 112,000 somewhere around 16,000 or 17,000, and calls the rest the arbitrage. Greg Isenberg points to a $129 lead as a reason to choose a high-ticket trade. Lawn care and restaurants are the wrong niche because the tickets are low. A plumbing job can be thousands of dollars, and the need is urgent. Isenberg paid about $2,000 the same day a ceiling leak needed a water-restoration crew. If a seller can get those jobs in front of the company and measure the return, the owner will not want to leave.
Thinner markets he names include hood cleaning, dental implants, tree service, sport courts, and backup generators. The pick depends on the city.
