What Book Does the Save Disney Campaign Open With?
Ben Gilbert reads from Ride of a Lifetime, Bob Iger's book, as the Save Disney campaign begins. The resignation letter was a blistering three-page critique. It accused Eisner of seven distinct failures in the latter years after acknowledging that the first 10 years had been a success. Copies went to Eisner, the board, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the LA Times.
The letter laid the failures out point by point. The first was a failure to bring ABC primetime back from its ratings abyss. The second was the consistent micromanagement of everyone around Eisner, and the resulting loss of morale throughout the company.
