Quality has to be infused into everything the company does with AI. Slop is the four-letter word for the negative things AI can do, just as spam was for the internet. An email inbox can fill with spam, and AI can produce slop.

The pillar of AI focus he introduced for the company puts every effort in the interest of quality and rules out random acts of AI. A random act is sticking a button somewhere, adding AI onto a feature, or shipping work that feels exciting only because it was built with AI while the result is a piece of junk. The aim was an immune system around AI.
