How Did Hector Serrano Join Wispr Flow at 19?

Hector Serrano joined Wispr Flow three days after he turned 19, and three days after he quit Division I soccer. He went home, searched for creator jobs, applied to about 200 roles, found a company called Wispr Flow, got on a call with Tanay, and took the job. He had never worked at a startup. The first year was a pile of random tasks and no real title. He walked out of calculus and started editing a video because Tanay asked, and that scared him. He is pretty sure the company did not know what he was doing either. It took about a year before he felt comfortable.

He nearly left for a normal path. His family had immigrated to the United States, studying finance mattered at home, and he had applied to finance internships before he believed content was a career. He landed one in New York and spent the summer on two classes, Wispr Flow, and that internship. Two weeks in, he hated the office. He snuck out to cafes in Soho and worked on Wispr Flow and his own videos. That is when the work started to make sense.
