Why Does Sends Per Reach Matter on Instagram?

Adam Mosseri says sends per reach still matters a ton on Instagram, particularly for unconnected reach, the people who do not follow an account. For a new creator, sends per reach, likes per reach, and watch time or average watch time rank among the most important metrics to follow.

Reaching people who follow an account and reaching people who do not follow are separate problems. Sends per reach is particularly important for unconnected reach. On the last episode he mentioned to the team they should make a metric for it. Edits now does the math so a creator can see sends per reach, and Instagram is bringing the same view into insights.
